What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I wanted to write an imperfect girl, going through real life struggle. Characters that are true to the human condition of struggle, muddling their way through life hoping they get it right.

How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Many of my characters are a reflection of the people I know. I pick and choose different character traits and mannerisms to build robust and believable characters.

Book Sample
Maddox looks at me and runs his finger up my cheek, catching a tear. He holds it on his index finger, “This right here is a tear of hope and happiness. Let's have that be the only thing you feel right now.” He smiles and moves his finger closer to me. “Now, make a wish and blow.”
He has always known how to make me feel better, even in the darkest of times. I want to wish for something good, not something stupid like winning the lottery or selling a painting. It should mean something, like this moment. This short span of time will fuel me for months to come, knowing that someone believes in me and really cares about me. I wish this moment would never end. I blow the tear off his finger and smile.
