When Macy Shaw met the enigmatic Narcifer, she was certain Cupid fired his bow straight at them. After all, Narcifer is attentive, loving, sexy and, best of all, fantastic between the sheets.
But as they embark on an intense affair, Macy realises that Narcifer’s Jelvian ancestry poses a risk, especially as the rest of humanity sees Jelvias as an inferior species and nothing more than something that needs to be extinguished.
So, this leaves Macy in a difficult position.
But she’s a journalist, right?
She can write favourable articles to change people’s minds.
But as trouble and ‘accidents’ happen, Macy is forced to confront the frightening truth…
Is Narcifer the man of her dreams – or the venomous Jelvia of her nightmares?
There are six books in theJelvia: Not Human series. The series is told over a year of Macy’s life, where she starts her journey as a naive 24-year-old but ends up having the world’s future on her shoulders.
She really should’ve stayed in bed that very first day.
Contains mature scenes.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Humanity has always been captivated by stories of alien invasions and extraterrestrial encounters. From the iconic movie "Independence Day" to the heartwarming tale of "ET," these stories continue to inspire us to this day. "Starman" is one such story that stands out for me, exploring themes of love and connection.
The Jelvia: Not Human book series takes this theme even further, depicting aliens who seek to dominate humanity through covert means. Despite their sophisticated plan, the aliens' strategy is not without flaws, revealing the limitations of their mind control technique. This adds an intriguing layer of complexity to the story, making it a fascinating and thought-provoking read for anyone who loves romance and alien invasion stories.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The first book of "Holding Out for a Hero" required a character with a certain level of naivety, so I created Macy based on the optimistic views of the younger generation. While it's great to always look for the good in people, not everyone has good intentions. Narcifer is Macy's hero, but readers need to know he's not as perfect as he seems. In fact, he's hiding something dark. While it's an interesting and integral part of the story, it's important to remember that not everything is as it seems.
Author Bio:
TE Kessler is the pen name used by Louise Wise for her books. While Wise writes romance with minimal explicit content, Kessler's books have more steam and sci-fi themes infused into them.
Kessler enjoys writing science fiction because it gives her the opportunity to create her own worlds, creatures, and technology. She also likes to delve into the emotional depths of her characters and explore the triumphs and failures of humanity in a futuristic setting. Her books contain mature themes, so readers should be aware of this.
