About Angela Smith:
Angela Smith is a Texas native and was dubbed most likely to write a novel during her senior year in high school since she always had her nose stuck in a book. Although high school was decades ago, her dream began when her mom read ‘Brer Rabbit’ to her and her sister so often they could recite it back to each other before ever learning to read. She writes romantic suspense, contemporary romance, and young adult fiction. She works as a certified paralegal and office manager at her local District Attorney’s office and spends her free time with her husband, their pets, and their many hobbies. What inspires you to write?
I have to write in order to feel sane. I feel restless if I'm not writing!
Tell us about your writing process.
I mostly write by the seat of my pants, especially in the beginning. Once I hit the middle, I plot out a few things and then fly by the seat of my pants until I hit the end. I've learned it takes much less time to do it this way because I get very blocked when I plot too much and will often stop writing for days. Also, I can't start a new novel if I completely plot it first.
How do you develop your characters?
They definitely speak to me and go their own way! However, character development is my favorite part of writing. I have questionnaires and always create character sheets with lots of data and images. I've learned not to take them too seriously, because if I do then my story is toast. I have to listen to my characters and be willing to deviate.
Who are your favorite authors?
I love Sandra Brown, Karen Robards, Lisa Gardner, and Lynn Crandall, to name a few.

I am a contemporary romance author from Scotland.

What inspires you to write?
I love reading books and that has definitely inspired me to write from an early age.
I have to listen to music while writing and love listening to lyrics. I often find that the words give me inspiration and encouragement and can very often trigger new ideas.
Tell us about your writing process.
I am more of a pants writer than a plotter!
I tend to start with characters and setting and take it from there.
I also find that I am unable to write at home. Twitter lures me away too much, so I go to my favourite tea shop each weekday morning and write there for at least a couple of hours.
I find it easier to write long-hand in my notebooks to begin with and then once I return home, I'll type it up on the PC.
I try to write at least 1,500 words day and will sometimes write at weekends if I feel I need to catch up, otherwise I protect weekends as family time.
How do you develop your characters?
I often find my characters do speak to me but then they will surprise me or shock me by doing something unexpected – but that is usually great fun!
I will begin my sketching out what they look like' their traits and personalities etc and then take it from there.
Who are your favorite authors?
There are so many authors I admire, but my favourites are Jenny Colgan; Wendy Holden; Sophie Kinsella & Trisha Ashley. They make characters come to life and describe settings so vividly, you feel like you are part of the story.

About Karina Bartow:
I grew up and still live in Northern Ohio. Though born with Cerebral Palsy, I’ve never allowed my disability to define me. Rather, I’ve used my experiences to breathe life into characters who have physical limitations, but like me, are determined not to let them stand in the way of the life they want. My debut novel, “Husband in Hiding”, was released in 2015 and was well-received by readers. I may only be able to type with one hand, but I write with my whole heart!
What inspires you to write?
Writing's always come naturally to me, and when I met an author as a kid, that was the starting point of my aspirations for sure. What's kept me writing, though, is my love of being able to take charge of every twist, turn and outcome, and there’s no right or wrong–just room for improvement. No one has that in everyday life, especially if you have a handicap.
Tell us about your writing process.
I enjoyed improv in high school drama class, and that's how I write. It's all extemporaneous. I think on where I am in the story throughout my day and sit down with a generic idea of where I want to go, but I never know the details until I'm in the moment. I try to write almost every day for two to three hours.
How do you develop your characters?
At any story's beginning, I'd say I direct them for the most part, but as they develop, they take over! In my upcoming novel, "Forgetting My Way Back to You", I intended to write a classic wedding scene, but once I started it, Hunter, the protagonist, said, "Nope, I'll handle this!" It became my favorite scene.
Who are your favorite authors?
I love Nicholas Sparks.

About Alex Bailey:
Alex Bailey was a bored writer/editor of documents as monotonous as vacuum cleaner manuals. She left that life behind to create more exciting worlds than the one she lived in. The Future Memoir of Ann Jones is the first book under her assumed identity. She also publishes children’s books under the name of Hoot N. Holler. When Alex is not listening to friends reveal wild stories about their future, she tends to her organic garden while belting out show tunes. Alex and her husband started the garden with the intent to donate fresh organic food to their local food bank, and so far, it has been a smashing success. What inspires you to write?
I'm not inspired, exactly. More like, compelled. There's this deep driving force inside me, as if the stories themselves are forcing themselves out into the world.
Tell us about your writing process.
My process is all over the place. An idea is itching to be released. I have a sudden urgent need to write it down. Sometimes it's on the back of a grocery store receipt or a napkin. Then, I put it aside with the thousands of others and see which idea fights the strongest in the battle for next story winner. When it emerges, I try very hard to outline. Sometimes this works. Sometimes, the story wants to be told in a way that even I don't know the direction it's heading. When it takes over in this manner, I've learned to give in, it's not worth the fight, because I will give in eventually.
How do you develop your characters?
Well, since Ann told me the story about her future vision and described it in detail, the only person who 'spoke to me' was Ann herself. But for other stories, I usually have an inkling at the beginning of the story of where I want them to end up. And this lasts for a minute until they tell me to talk to the hand and go their own way. Characters can be so fussy like that.
Who are your favorite authors?
It's hard to say which is my favorite; I love many: Charles Dickens, JK Rowling, Cecelia Ahern, Stephen King, H.G. Wells, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, my daughters, J.R.R. Tolkien, Philip Pullman, Fredrik Backman, Ray Bradbury, Sophie Kinsella, Arthur C. Clarke to name a few.
